Dear Sir, I hope the seasons have treated you well! I was given THE FARMING GAME for Christmas many years ago. This was one of the greatest gifts I had ever recieved, a game I had loved more then Monopoly... Thank you! Karl Eklund |

12/12/02 Hi: We added a hat to the game. Boxing has a belt; Bowling has a trophy; Hockey has the Stanley Cup; even Golf has the Master's Jacket. We needed a way to remain the envy of all our neighbors who still had jobs in town! It's the Farmer's Hat. Only the winner is a farmer, only the farmer can wear the hat. It is a very fun addition to the incredible competition developing in our home. Wade Rasmussen Beaverton Oregon |
3/20/03 Hi! We have a house rule that brings a little humor to the game. Every time that a person buys cows, they are required to go out to front lawn and moo. Although some are a little reluctant to participate, it does bring some good laughs. Who cares about the crazy looks from the neighbors. D. Mason Portland, OR |
3/18/96 First of all I would like to tell you that my roommates and I love your game. It makes Monoply look like child's play. We have one question that seems to bring up a lot of controversy. Well, just one roommate seems to believe that the space that says hurt your back, go back to the second week of January, he believes that you go all the way around the board even collecting $5,000.00 because you should not be able to go back in a calendar year. Please tell us which is right. I know it's just a game, but we have soem serious hard nosed grid iron games, and we need this one little problem solved. Thanks again for the great game. Please respond as it is pretty viscous every time someone lands on that spot. Your Friends, Darren Lester and roommates |
12/21/98 To Whom it may concern: A friend got me on the search for the Farming Game recently. She reminded me of how much fun we used to have playing it. I realized that my mom still had our old game. The only problem is that we played it so much that we only have a few pieces, the board and a very used box left. Anyway we have searched high and low and cannot find this wonderful game anywhere. I then had a brainstorm and thought I would just look on the box and get your address. To make a long story short. Is there anywhere my friend and I can get a couple of these games? We so love the Farming Game. We are both sure that our families will love it like we do. My husband says it sounds fun and would like to play. He's kind of excited, being as he is a farmer himself. Please let me know if I can get a game. I anxiously await your correspondence. Sincerely, Nancy P. |
June 19, 1995 The Weekend Farmer Co. Gentlemen: This past weekend, I had the opportunity to play The Farming Game with some friends in Eugene, Oregon. I had so much fun with the game and other players that I would appreciate knowing where I can purchase one of the games for myself. One of the players this weekend mentioned that he had looked all over the Portland Metropolitan area and was unable to locate the game. Before searching high and low myself, I decided the best way to determine where it could be purchased would be to write directly to you. If you could please provide me with names of retailers in the greater Portland area and the approximate price of the game, I would be very happy to purchase one for years of entertainment in the future. Also, I mentioned the game to my boss and he also seemed very interested in knowing where to purchase one. If the game has been taken off the market for one reason or another, I might suggest changing the marketing strategies. I found the game much more entertaining than Monopoly and I hope it is still available. Thank You for your cooperation and assistance. Very truly yours, Helen H. |
20 January '93 Please send me a copy of your wonderful farming game. I played it for the first time last weekend and I have to have it. I live in Portland and I couldn't find it in any retail store. Thank You for making such a fun game. My check for $24.95 is enclosed. The woman I spoke to over your 1-800-222-GAME line said that amount would over shipping also. I'll make sure all my friends and family have this game! Please send a catalog if you have one. Thank You, Julie G. |
To whom it may concern: Some friends of my husband's and mine bought your new Farming Game, we have played it a couple of times with them and we love it. Only problem is we can't find it anywhere and we would love to buy it. We are interested in buying 10 of these games. Please let me know where I can purchase them. We have already checked the Bons in our area and they are all sold out. If possible could you send them to use and if so how much money for 10? Thank you very much. Jackie James |
Dear Sir, I am writing to you about your great game, The Farming Game. A friend of mine has it. It is the best game I have ever played. We can play for hours and hours. Sometimes we start at noon and play 'til midnight. It is really nice to play a game that is so close to home. The problem is: I have looked from store to store and called all around to find it, and no one has it and don't know when they will get some more. So please help a farmer lover to find it, because I may not have a friend for very long because I like to borrow it all the time, and they said they said that they would like to play it sometime too. Thank You! from a game lover Shelly G. |
February 23, 1989 Dear Sirs, After having played the "Farming Game" with friends, and found it to be a fantastic game more so than any board game I or we have ever played. Anyway, we have searched the entire Seattle area, by car and by phone " To NO AVAIL." " We want this game!!! It has become an obsession with us. We write now as our last hopes of obtaining this game. Please don't tell us you no longer make this game. We would like information " if you could on how to obtain this game "The Farming Game" directly from your company. Yours Truly, Lavonne O. and family |
I am 46 years old. My six sisters and I all own a farming game, and we have also bought copies for many of our children. We have taken the game to all new heights, in fact, it requires two games for two of us to play. We harvest on every square. We purchase every ridge twice. After our first harvester/tractor pair that we buy on our property, we have added options for the rest of the ten pairs we have allowed ourselves. One set placed on our fruit stops all fruit penalties. One set placed on a ridge that we own both parts to - doubles the amount of cows on the ridge. Extra harvesters and tractors placed on your home property allow us to collect on cards that say pay if you don't own a harvester or tractor. When we begin the game, we shake for high, that shake tells us how many cards to draw. Also, if you land on the starting position, you have to shake and see how many cards to draw. About those cards, we have mixed all three piles, and what ever is on top is what you are stuck with. We have had to do away with the $50,000 limit of debt, except on the buy row. Some problems, we don't have enough tiles, so every ten tiles, we turn over one to mark ten pieces. The cows get hard to count, so we turn over one tile for every ten on the cows also, but make sure our implement pairs are still on the board so we can get a correct cow count for the penalty cards. We don't have enough cash, so every $100,000 we trade in for a $1000 promissory note, every 10 promissory notes, we exchange for a $10,000 note. As you can figure, we get some absolutely enormous harvests. The sister that I live with and I play nearly every night. Our biggest harvest so far was $2,575,000 on a doubled fruit. In our game, if you double the hay and double the grain, you also get to double the fruit. We keep wearing out our games, and personally, I have bought 3 games in the last 10 years. We do love the smaller folding board and more convenient box. Betty Adkins |
